Description
Hi team,
We are currently working with the Vision2Hippo dataset and have a question regarding the presentation of the natural movie stimuli. We've been analyzing the data but have run into a point of confusion regarding the stimulus timing that we hope you can clarify.
We are studying the neural dynamics in sub-cortical regions in response to the natural movies. Our goal is to align the recorded spike data with the corresponding video frames.
We are analyzing a session where a "natural movie" was presented. According to the project description, the eagle movie stimulus is either 10 seconds (sped-up) or 20 seconds (original) long.
Using our current method, we have extracted the video stimulus from the ..._image.nwb file, but the resulting video clip is only 4 seconds long. This suggests our extraction method may be incomplete.
The total recording time for this stimulus presentation in the main NWB file is 240 seconds.
This leads to two points of confusion:
First, we are unsure why we are only extracting a 4-second video and would like to confirm the correct method to obtain the full 10/20-second clip.
Second, assuming we can extract the full clip, we are unsure how it is presented within the 240-second recording period. A visual inspection of the spike data does not suggest a simple, repetitive looping pattern.
We would be grateful if you could clarify the following:
Our Questions
Video Extraction: Could you point us to the correct method or an example snippet for extracting the entire natural movie stimulus from the ImageSeries in the NWB file? It seems we are only getting a partial clip.
Stimulus Presentation: Once we have the full 10/20-second video, how can we determine its precise timing within the 240-second recording block? Was the clip shown once, or multiple times?
Thank you for your time and for maintaining this valuable dataset. Any guidance you can provide would be a great help to our research.
