Repository: https://github.com/jub0t/Concat

The truly free, and open-source cross-platform CapCut replacement (supports MCPs).

  • Stars: 3899
  • Release with the AppImage: v0.2.5 (2026-09-28T15:51:27Z)
  • AppImage asset: Concat-0.2.5-linux-x86_64.AppImage
  • License: AGPL-3.0

Found by .github/workflows/discover-apps.yml, which looks for GitHub
repositories that publish AppImages but are not in the catalog yet. This
entry was not tested by a human; please review it before merging.

Unusual star count: 3899 stars for a repository created 36 day(s) ago (2026-08-25) (label manual-check-needed). A very high star count on a brand-new project can mean bought or botted stars; please check that the project is genuine before merging.

Discovered on GitHub as publishing AppImages on its releases, by
discover-apps.yml. Needs a maintainer's review.

❌ Test failure

@jub0t: this pull request adds the AppImage from your GitHub repository to the AppImage catalog; the test reports the following. Could you have a look?

Compatibility: not self-contained: uses the C library of the system; references glibc 2.35

Names:

WARNING: AppImage name 'Concat-0.2.5-linux-x86_64.AppImage': should not contain 'Linux', since all AppImages are for Linux (e.g. 'App-1.0-x86_64.AppImage', not 'App-1.0-linux-x86_64.AppImage')
  • The application quit or crashed right after starting. The error below usually shows why.
  • Please check the remarks about the names below.

First error in the log:

ERROR: The application exited within 11 seconds instead of showing a window

What next: once the AppImage is fixed (e.g. in a new release), comment /retest here to test it again. If it should not be in the catalog after all, close this pull request; an app that is already in the catalog can be removed by a maintainer with /remove.

The growth has been organic.

A major contributor was a highly successful Reddit post that brought a large amount of traffic and attention to the project:

The project targets the video editing market, which has hundreds of millions of users globally. Given the size of the audience, rapid star growth is not unexpected for a project that resonates with users.

I'll work on making Concat releases more compliant & compatible so they can be added to the AppImage registry.

Congrats on having such a successfull application. https://github.com/AppImage/appimage.github.io/actions/runs/36660356020/job/109713522704#step:8:627 is the real error. Should be easy to fix :-)

…s where that is missing

On a machine without libxkbcommon-x11, the window's X11 backend panicked
at start (xkbcommon-dl, x11.rs:59) before showing anything, which is
why the AppImage catalog's test reported the app exiting within eleven
seconds (AppImage/appimage.github.io#8947). The AppImage now carries
libxkbcommon-x11.so.0 and libxcb-xkb.so.1 beside the binary, where the
rpath finds them, and the .deb and .rpm depend on the library.

Concat's version v0.2.6 was released. Let me know if it qualifies now.

❌ Test failure

Tested:

Compatibility: not self-contained: uses the C library of the system; references glibc 2.35

  • The application quit or crashed right after starting; the error below usually shows why. Note that the test runs the application without network access, on purpose, and that this is a requirement for the catalog: an AppImage must start without network (users are offline too). If the application needs a server, a login or an update check to start, please make it show its window (or at least a message) first and connect afterwards, and handle a failed connection instead of exiting.
