First of all, thank you! I had almost given up on the idea of comparing pdfs in automated testing, but this does it. Some interesting coding here, as well, for an experienced programmer just ramping up on Python. As you might guess, I have solutions for these issues. I thought you might like them in your code rather than me making a private fork.
- Adding a result boolean would enable use in automated testing
- Adding a facility to show differing images, either side by side or as a diff image would make it easier to see where the differences were
- Adding requirements.txt would make it easier to create a virtual environment with just the needed modules
- Adding project infrastructure to use the Visual Studio IDE would be nice for Windows users
