Steps to reproduce the bug

Helloo..
Archive a conversation.
Close the app completely, swiped from memory.
Have the number that you have archived send you an SMS.
SMS isn't received after opening app and isn't in stock "Messages" app either.

Expected behavior

SMS should be received/delivered from numbers in archived conversation regardless whether the app is open or closed.

Actual behavior

When SMS are send from numbers that are in archived conversations, this is the result:

SMS is NOT received in archived conversations when:
App is closed and not in memory (closed/swiped all apps just in case).
This happens with "Keep archived.." on/off. No numbers blocked, no custom notifications.

SMS is received in archived conversations when:
App is open in list of messages or in that particular archived conversation.
App is closed but not gone from memory.

On the sender's end the SMS shows up as "delivered".

Just to double-check, the messages (and notifications) are always received for non-archived conversations, regardless of the app's background/foreground status, and this bug only affects archived conversations?

Also:

• Have you tried allowing the app to start from the background in MIUI's app settings?
• What happens if you lock the app in recents to prevent it from being removed when you clear recents?
• Does turning the screen on/off make any difference?

Ok, somehow I didn't check normal conversations! So.. update:
The above situation happened to all conversations, not just the archived ones.
Your first suggestion led to the root of the problem: The app wasn't allowed to autostart.
That solved this issue, but led me to find another issue.
It's about not following the "Show/Not show" notification settings.
Should I open another ticket for that or detail it here?

You are probably affected by #323 or #316. If not, please file a new bug report.
