Summary
Create a small custom metadata block to capture dataset readiness/curation steps (boolean/yes-no).
Goal: quick status signal for depositors/curators and optional filtering.

Decisions needed

• Exact checklist questions (e.g., files uploaded, keywords reviewed, related works checked, data sources added).

Approach

• Draft field list + help text, review with CAFE team.
• Prepare TSV for the block/fields; load to demo and enable for target collections.
• Configure inputLevels (displayOnCreate) and test workflow.
• Iterate wording/order based on demo feedback; then roll out to production.

FWIW: QDR uses github issues (one per dataset, a private repo) for this with checkboxes for all their steps, along with Curation Status labels in Dataverse (more for stages like awaiting deposit or curating (all the steps in github)) to track this sort of information. I don't know if that's an option for CAFE. It makes it easier to add/change steps (and to allow discussion about specific steps) but the details are not in the published metadata.
