tensorflow spews a lot of crap in the terminal (ubuntu)

**Describe the inaccuracy**
its all unnecessary

**Expected/Suggested behavior**
tensorflow should be silent unless there is a fatal error 

**Additional context**
we are only using tf.writer, so that we can get TensorBoard working. it does work but clogs the terminal.
