Why is my data going thru your VPN ?

I notice that if I use your app I get e 250+ ms ping response to my best GFN server (in my case Bulgaria) but if I user GFN Client or if I ping directly the server I get 15/20 ms ping response time, why is the data actually transferred to a 3rd party before getting to me ?
