Consider a card-based view and edit modality that would enable features to be edited in bulk

There are definitely nuances around how to deal with mixed attributes across phenotypes, but if you agree this is a good direction to go, I can design that.

In short, the card-based view circumvents two issues 1) the relationship between the list and the feature editing, 2) paves the way for more bulk editing.

Great! I'm glad you like it. Anything we can do to lower the barrier to getting rich descriptions, without adding too much complexity should be considered. There may be a better pattern out there somewhere but this is the best I can think of so far. Would love for others to weigh in too
