Add the first pattern batch: statements, FAQs, alternating text, and pages - #134
Conversation
…pages Seven patterns designed on canvas for the library expansion (#128), part 1: Text Statement and its Wide sibling, Text FAQs on accordions, Text Alternating introducing the blog's sections, and three page layouts — Page Soon, Page Links, and Page Blog Home. Wired alongside: a pre-quote utility drawing the statements' opening quotation mark as generated content, silent to screen readers and shared with the Quote blocks' ornament language, with a currentColor modifier for marks on colored grounds; the accordion panel padding folded into theme.json; an ipsum_page pattern category for the page layouts; and five Midjourney cover images by the theme author, bundled as webp and credited in readme.txt as a group. The pattern header check only knew core's categories, so ipsum_page failed on all three page patterns. Theme-registered categories now live in their own documented list beside core's. Also clears a leftover queryId and an untranslated metadata name in Page Blog Home that the full local run surfaced. Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5 <noreply@anthropic.com>

@MaggieCabrera, the designs may still change along the way, but it's better to add these files to the theme sooner rather than later. I still have 22 others planned in addition to these 7. |
The upcoming Page Bio covers the link-in-bio ground, so the pattern and its otherwise-unused author cover come out while the PR is still in review. Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
The coming-soon cover follows the designer's latest pass — the Monobloc study replaces the original art, the focal point returns to center, and the bundled-image credit widens to cover the theme's whole ipsum-* set. Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
I was in the middle of adding some tweaks to these before I merged, is this ready or should I wait for more changes from you? |
…headers Give the FAQ items their own questions, drop the accent-1 and contrast colors Ipsum doesn't define from Page Soon, translate the separators in Page Blog Home, and offer both page patterns as starter content for pages. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
Page Blog Home reuses trunk's translation contexts for its block names and matches Archive Full's posts loop. Text Alternating's rows are wide and its images have alt text. Text Statement uses an h2, and leftover names, classes and attributes from the design tool are gone. The statements' opening quotation mark moves from the pre-quote utility classes to two block style variations for headings and paragraphs: Quote Mark, in the ink wash the Quote block uses, and Quote Mark on Color, in the block's text color. The empty alternative text in content keeps the mark silent to screen readers. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>

Yes, @MaggieCabrera. I added the second batch to this same PR; now my tasks here are all pushed. |

Thanks, @MaggieCabrera. This was a great improvement; I didn’t have time to do all those checks—lovely! |

Part 1 of the pattern-library expansion discussed in #128 — six patterns designed by @henriqueiamarino on canvas, in Ipsum's voice.
The patterns
Content follows the demo site's metalinguistic voice — placeholder text that knows it's placeholder, teaching by example (the FAQ's last answer explains how to replace it).
Wiring that ships with them
.pre-quoteutility (style.css + editor mirror): the statements' ❝ as generated content — silent to screen readers via the alternative-text syntax, same glyph/ink-wash/scale as the Quote and Pullquote ornaments, so all three speak one ornament language. A.pre-quote-currentmodifier lets marks on colored grounds take the block's own text color.core/accordion-panelbottom padding; accordion headings stay small globally, medium per-instance in the FAQ.ipsum_pagepattern category for the page layouts. All strings i18n'd, metadata names in the
