Overlay old backups ontop of a new backup?

With borg can i backup some files, then delete them on my regular system, then backup more files and when i go to the most recent update, i see the old files and the new files sort of merged or snapshotted

like overlay the old data ontop of the new data, so unless i like didnt delete the old file but edited it, its new version will supersede the old

Merged view is not part of borg

It may be possible to emulate this with a unionfs

borg mount has a "versions" mount option with slightly different semantics and use cases.
