Modernization for C++17 and beyond

I have come to heavily rely on ECB, as well as Emacs in general, for all my development needs. However, ECB's support of C++ is showing its age. It cannot, for example, properly handle the override designation on function declarations, nor can it handle the R" heredoc strings.

Is there any plans to do this? If not, are you accepting pull requests? If not, do you mind if I can take over the ECB project so I can push changes out to the distribution points?

Thanks for the fine work on ECB, and yes, we all tend to move on from even successful projects after a while.

Probably noone would mind you forking the project.

Also, judging by the recent messages in the cedet's mailing lists, there will be a new version of cedet soon, so a code browser would be quite useful.

If someone wants to take over, they don't really need to fork the project. I could add them to the ECB-Home group. I'd be happy to do it for anyone that wants to actively work on it. I simply don't have the time.

@ware Please I'll like to be added too. I have been a long time user of ecb and will like to see it continued into the foreseeable future. I'll like the opportunity to contribute.
