Publish app for Android Automotive OS

Do you think it would be possible to enable support for Android Automotive OS when publishing to Google Play? I guess the app would just work without any changes, it's just not available to install right now.

This would allow users to install the evcc app directly in their car giving very quick access to the evcc interface via a button on the car's homescreen (as long as Wifi is connected).

Would you be intersted in this?
I'll also try to sideload the app to verify compatibility and report back here.

Do you have any resources on what it takes to do this? I've not Android Automitive OS experience and dont know if we have to meet some special requirements for this.

Good point. There seem to be quite a few requirements for in-car apps, but as far as I understand, these are not relevant as long as it's a "parked app", meaning it can only be used in park, which would be fully sufficient IMO.

Okay, sideloading doesn't seem to be possible. So the only way to test this is using an emulator.
