Recording PopUp always on top or on mac os menu bar

It would be very helpful to have an always‑on‑top pop‑up while recording, or alternatively a clear status indicator in the macOS menu bar, for example replacing the ray icon with red, animated waves while recording is active. This would make it easier to see at a glance whether recording has started and to avoid both forgetting to start and forgetting to stop a recording.
