Anyway to convert STEP/STL/etc to SVF without Autodesk Forge?

Thinking of setting up an open source version of this tool for others to quickly "Preview" their models online.  However, I don't want to be a slave to Autodesk's Forge API.  

Is there a way to do this on the Linux side?
