Changes in the ipxe files are without effect

Hi at all!

I've installed netboot.xyz in a Docker environement. But every single change in the menus (ipxe files) ist withou any effect. I can change anything I want and when I boot a pc the pxe menu is still the "original" one. I can see the changes in the mounted volumes. But it seems like the menu implementation is static.

What do I have to do that changes are adopted? I already tried several docker images from latest back zu 0.6.7.

I have the same issue. I am not 100% but I think this is an issue with the menu version. Did you solved it?

Yes, I followed the linked installation process. I also created the local-vars.ipxe file and set the win_base_url variable. I additionally changed a little bit of the menu text in the Windows menu, in other menus and also in the main menu. But I only get the original menus. I can change every single entry in every menu file - I still get the same menus that come with the initial setup of netboot.xyz.

This sound like that you are not accessing your instance of netbootxyz. I had a similar issue where my dhcp pointed against another instances kpxe file.

Sounds reasonable to me. But what am I accessing instead? There is no other instance of netboot.xyz or any other pxe server.

Do you self host netbootxyz? Becaise you say there is no other instance of netboot.xyz do you point your dhcp against netboot.xyz or against your instance?

Of course I self host netboot.xyz in my home lab. I point my dhcp server againts netboot.xyz. There is no other pxe server in my network.
If I wouldn't point againts netboot.xyz... how would it be possible to see the netboot.xyz main menu if there the dhcp server was pointed to anything else?

you need to point next-server to your instance and depending on dhcp set the correct bootfiles.

Here are my examples from opnsense and isc-dhcp:

Boot computer from PXE and choose "Tools -> Network card info" from netboot menu to verify you are pointed to right Next-server.
I suspect that ipxe ignores DHCP option 66 and replaces it with option 54.
