gradethis fails to install on ARM

I am currently doing an MSc in statistics. As part of the course, we need to install gradethis. However, it seems to be the case that it does not install on machines with an ARM64 processor. I am running a Windows machine with an ARM64 process. Another student is running an Apple machine on an M1 processor which is also ARM.

We both have identical problems when trying to install gradethis. I have, however, successfully installed it on two x86-based machines. So by process of elimination, ARM seems to be the problem.

Does anyone have a solution for this?

Can you show the output? gradethis is a pure R package so it's unlikely there's an ARM issue, at least one that's caused by gradethis.

This is the error message that the other student with an M1 posted:

They didn't post additional details. This is the error that I got on one of my many attempts to install on my Windows Snapdragon system (I have tried every iteration of updating installed packages, this is just my last attempt. So I do not believe it has anything to do with the options selected for updating packages):

Does this generally happen for remote installs from GitHub?

You may try another GitHub install, like remotes::install_github("pedscience/clinicalsignificance")

I always get an issue concerning lazy loading as well. Packages install just fine from CRAN but not from GitHub.
