Problem with iPhone 13 #840

Description

@vmontesr

Environment

  • Device: NanoKVM Full
  • Image Version: v1.4.2
  • App Version: v2.4.3

Client devices tested:

  • Windows 11 (Chrome, Edge) ✅ Works
  • iPad + Bluetooth Mouse ✅ Works
  • iPhone (Safari) ❌ Bug
  • iPhone (Chrome) ❌ Bug

Connection methods tested:

  • Local IP
  • Tailscale

Same behavior in both cases.

Problem

When controlling the remote computer from an iPhone using touch input, the cursor behaves as if the left mouse button is permanently held down.

Moving the finger does not simply move the cursor.

Instead it continuously drags objects:

  • Desktop icons are selected.
  • Text becomes selected.
  • Windows are dragged.
  • Drag & Drop starts immediately.

The NanoKVM becomes almost unusable from an iPhone.

Tests performed

  • Different HDMI cables
  • Different computers
  • Different browsers
  • Safari
  • Chrome
  • Local LAN
  • Tailscale
  • HID Reset
  • Absolute Mouse
  • Relative Mouse

Results:

Absolute Mouse:

  • Cursor moves
  • Permanent drag

Relative Mouse:

  • Cursor does not move

What works correctly

  • Windows browsers
  • iPad using Bluetooth mouse
  • Keyboard HID
  • Video
  • HDMI capture

This indicates the issue is specific to iPhone touch events.

Expected behavior

Finger movement should only move the mouse cursor.

A tap should generate a click.

Dragging should only occur after an intentional drag gesture or long press.

Additional information

This issue is easily reproducible.
