Please tell us about yourself (include an email address):
Salam my name is Rached Ben Sassi and I'm an independent developer. You can reach me at bensassi.rached@hotmail.com
Your purpose in using this API:
I'm building a small personal iOS app, a Lock Screen and Home Screen widget that shows the Hijri date together with sunnah/hadith, chosen to match the current date (e.g. Monday/Thursday fasting, the white days, Ramadan, etc.). If you give me the permission, I'd like to use your hadith dataset.
It's a non-commercial project, and I'll of course credit sunnah.com as the source.
API rate limits:
I mostly need to build a local dataset just once, so I guess you know better.
Is your use case better served by having an offline dump of hadith data or programmatic API access?
An offline dump would actually suit me best. The app ships a static dataset and works fully offline, I just need the data once.
What are the languages in which would you like hadith data?
Arabic plus English translation.
What programming language will your API client be in?
The app itself is written in Swift. If getting an offline dump is not possible then I'd likely use a small Python or shell script.
