Support Kotlin 2.1.21

Hi! Kotlin 2.1.21 was recently released which fixes a bunch of annoying Xcode 16.3 problems, now I notice
that you are working hard to support Kotlin 2.1.20, but we would like to see support for 2.1.21 as well!

Thanks for all your hard work while Kotlin is moving closer to be able to export swift code.

I think there was a message here that explained that the preview release (0.10.2-preview.2.1.20) should work for 2.1.21

@FelixNievelstein Thanks for the report, would you be able to create a small reproducer? Is it possible you have a @Composable function exposed to Objective-C that either has default arguments or is suspending? And lastly, could you share the full stacktrace? Thanks!

Unfortunately, the release 0.10.2 does not fix our bug with kotlin 2.1.21.

@FelixNievelstein Hi! Can you please try to disable the suspend interop for this function using the @SuspendInterop.Disabled annotation if that fixes the issue? Also, can you please try to figure out what is the first version of Kotlin in which this problem occurs? (2.1.10, 2.1.20 or just 2.1.21 for example)

Another thing that would help us is if you could share a full declaration of the function access$getDefaultHeader (declared in de.abc.cdf.client) + declaration of the types used as parameters and return type, so that I can try to reproduce this issue locally.

The content/implementation of the function can be left out (but things that are part of the function signature, like default arguments, are important). When it comes to the declaration of the types, we do not need any of their content (like functions and properties), but the declaration of parent types might be.

we have already SuspendInterop.Enabled(false) in our skie config.
We've tested several kotlin and skie version combinations. The error occurs starting with kotlin 2.1.20 and skie 0.10.2.
Using kotlin 2.1.10with skie 0.10.2 looks good.

The declaration of the function looks like this:

Hm, this is very weird. The error says the function should be public, not private. Also, SKIE doesn't touch private functions in any way.

Follow up questions that come to my mind:

• Are you sure this is the right function and that it's private not public?
• Do you use the default arguments feature of SKIE?
• Do you use the Kotlin native incremental compilation?
• Does the same crash occur on another computer or CI?
• Is the project open source by any chance so that I could try it locally?

We will need to figure out how to create a minimal reproducer that you would be able to share with us, because there has to be something else contributing to this issue.

A couple of hints on how to do that. First, try to copy that function next to the other one (with a different name, keep everything the same). Then make the other function internal to resolve the error. The new function should now throw the error instead, but that error should have the new name of the function instead of the old one. Then remove all implementation of the function - just return an empty list. Then remove annotations, default arguments from parameters, then remove parameters, then change return to Unit, then remove suspend. Test if the errors still happen after each step. After that, you can try moving this function to a different class, etc. If the error stops happening, just revert that change that caused it, and continue with the other changes to get the simplest function possible that still breaks the compilation.
