this is most likely not your problem but since you are half of the equation I have brought it to your attention.
when immersive portals 6.0.6 is installed with its dependency's and this mod is added, no blocks in the world will render unless looking through a immersive portal. I don't know what causes this. items, entity's, tile entity's, and liquids will still render for whatever reason.
