This seems to be the best maintained version I can find for void... Thanks! To be clear there is no need to uninstall or manage the xorg-related packages before & after this install process, right? They're automatically upgraded to & replaced by xlibre it seems. Might be useful to make explicit in the install doc as well as state that OctoXBPS is not a dep - just your personal choice for viewing XBPS packages, right? I feel irresponsible not upgrading now that I see the security fixes in the latest xlibre release...

Yes, everything you said is correct.
OctoXBPS is a graphical user interface (GUI) for the XBPS (The X Binary Package System) package manager. Simply put, it allows you to manage programs on your system without using the command line.

xlibre packages are updated from my repository xlibre just like all other packages when a new version of the package is released

Yes, but the existing xorg packages are not "xlibre packages," which is why I think it is good to be clear that they'll also be managed/upgraded/removed by upgrading to xlibre via your repository, correct?

xlibre packages will be updated from my repository xlibre, and all other packages will be updated from the Void repository

When installing xlibre, Xorg packages are automatically replaced with the required xlibre packages.

But at the same time, Xorg packages also remain in the system, and you can easily return to Xorg
