Force re/sync for password managers

Currently with XPipe Pro 18.7 and bw cli 2025.10.0 for Windows standalone msi installation method.

I added an item to my Bitwarden instance (self-hosted) and cannot retrieve it via the settings "Test password manager" option. I am searching by UUID to avoid ambiguity, but no results show up. Using cmd.exe and bw get item UUID, it did not return any items, but after forcing a resync, it worked flawlessly. It seems like XPipe is not syncing to the database and not retrieving the new item. Closing and opening XPipe did not affect or fix the issue. By searching for any other UUID, it works without any issue, so this is a synchronisation issue.

Is there a way to force the resync? I resynced in bw cli with the bw sync command, but it seems like XPipe's instance of bw is not getting synced.

Any help would be appreciated.

This is a known issue and will be fixed in v19.

For now, you should be able to delete ~/.xpipe/cache/data.json and restart xpipe

@crschnick Okay, I tried to search it up in the issues page and in the docs, but did not find any topic regarding my consult. I am sorry for creating a duplicate issue.
I have just opened the json file, and it seems like a dump of the database. Is this the most effective/secure way of doing so? I have seen that with the custom option, it directly invokes the bw cli command, which I think should be more secure, isn't it?

The issue was reported on the discord initially, that is why it's not listed here.

The json cache file is just a copy of the internal bw cache file as there were some issues with concurrent modifications. However, the cache file does not get updated properly and therefore the sync updates do not apply to xpipe:

Deleting the json file will fix it as xpipe will copy the original bw cache file again to its own cache. XPipe always invokes the native bw CLI commands.

If you want, you can try https://github.com/xpipe-io/xpipe-ptb, that version already contains the fix. Note that this version is unstable though
