fix(input): merge throttled move and scroll deltas instead of dropping them - #453
While going through InputHandler.ts I noticed that throttle() only keeps the latest message when several arrive inside the throttle window. That's fine for absolute values, but move and scroll send relative dx/dy, so every message that gets replaced is distance the cursor never travels. On a fast swipe the pointer ends up noticeably short of where it should be, and scrolling feels the same way.
The fix is small: when a message is already pending, add the new deltas onto it instead of replacing it. The injector is still called at the same throttled rate, it just gets the full distance now.
I added src/server/InputHandler.test.ts with two cases (fake timers + a mocked injector):
5 moves of (10, -4) inside one window → total (50, -20). Before the fix this came out as 20 on x.
4 scrolls of dy 3 → total 12. Before the fix it was 6.
Both fail on main and pass with the change. Full suite (24 tests) and npm run check pass too.
Screenshots/Recordings:
No UI change.
Additional Notes:
Only move and scroll go through throttle() and both are relative, so summing is safe for every caller. Any other fields are taken from the most recent message.
AI disclosure: I used Claude to help trace the throttle path and write the tests. I've gone through the changes myself and understand them.

Bug Fixes
Throttled movement and scrolling now retain the combined distance or amount of inputs instead of losing changes while events are grouped.
Movement acceleration is applied to each input before combining movements, and combined movement is no longer clamped a second time.
Pending movement and scrolling changes are cleared when input handling is stopped.
Pending movement is flushed before a newer move is processed, helping preserve the order and effect of rapid inputs.
InputHandler now accumulates throttled movement and scroll deltas, applies movement processing to each packet before accumulation, and clears pending input when destroyed. Tests cover accumulated injections and related movement behavior.

InputHandler accumulates pending movement and scroll deltas. It applies applyMotion to each movement packet before accumulation, injects the totals, and clears pending values on destroy. Tests cover accumulated deltas, acceleration, merged movement, event ordering, and destruction.
A dragged item can be released before the cursor reaches its final position. Flush pending movement before button transitions prior to merging.

Explanation
Issue #452 requires that relative move and scroll deltas arriving inside the 8 ms throttle window are summed, not overwritten, while injection stays throttled. At head d0fe7e0, InputHandler.throttle() stores pendingMove and pendingScroll as accumulated {dx, dy} totals (prev.dx + ax, prev.dy + ay). Only one timer is armed per window, so injection frequency is unchanged. The timer flush injects the summed total through injectMouseMove or injectMouseWheel. Packets pass through only when no timer is pending and the interval has elapsed, so earlier deltas are not overtaken. The requested unit test is present in src/server/InputHandler.test.ts with fake timers and a mocked injector. Its cases cover 5 moves of (10, -4) totalling (50, -20), 4 scrolls of dy 3 totalling 12, per-packet acceleration, no second MAX_COORD clamp on the merged move, flush ordering, and dropping pending deltas on destroy. The current code therefore meets the issue's expected behavior. Some detail is inferred from the test code and not run here: the test outcomes were not executed in this assessment.

Explanation
The whole-PR diff from merge base 4efa9a8 to head d0fe7e0 changes src/server/InputHandler.ts and adds src/server/InputHandler.test.ts. Every changed hunk is in the throttle path or its direct state. The pending-delta type change, the summing logic, the flush ordering fix, and the test file support #452. The destroy() change clears pendingMove, pendingScroll, pendingLs, and pendingRs alongside the timers that already existed, so no pending value can flush after teardown. The pendingLs and pendingRs clearing extends beyond the move and scroll focus of #452 but is limited to the same throttle state in the same class and matches the PR objectives. No unrelated product behavior or files are changed.

Add a typed injector seam for the tests.
InputHandler has no typed injector parameter or setter, so the test bypasses the private-member check with a double assertion. Add an optional PlatformInjector constructor parameter or a typed setter, then inject the mock through that seam.

I'm leaving this out of this PR. Adding a constructor parameter just for tests would change InputHandler's public API, and I'd rather keep this PR focused on the throttle fix. Happy to do it in a follow-up if maintainers want it.

@mayank609 Understood. The typed injector seam is a non-blocking maintainability suggestion. Deferring it keeps this PR focused on the throttle fix.
Would you like me to open a follow-up issue for maintainers to consider?

Types are not optional
TypeScript strict mode is enabled. Type every export, input message payload (`InputMessage`), IPC interface, driver abstraction (`PlatformInjector`), and API contract. Do not introduce `any` types, and do not use `as` to suppress real type errors.
Nice implementation! @mayank609 Since I was looking at InputHandler.ts earlier too, I noticed two small edge cases you might want to watch out for:
When prev is null on the first throttled packet, this[pendingKey] = msg stores the caller's object reference directly; cloning it with { ...msg } would be safer so external mutations don't affect the queued delta.
Also, in destroy(), it might be worth resetting this.pendingMove = null and this.pendingScroll = null alongside clearTimeout so pending packets aren't held in memory after teardown.
Otherwise the delta accumulation logic and tests look super clean!
…le flush
Merged moves were accelerated as one aggregate, so the distance depended on packet grouping, and the flush went back through sanitizeMessage which clamped the sum to MAX_COORD. Pending deltas are now accumulated after applyMotion and injected directly on flush. destroy() also clears pending deltas.
@Veditha08 thanks for looking! Both handled in e48cfc6: pending values are now built as fresh {dx, dy} objects, so there's no shared reference to the caller's message anymore, and destroy() clears the pending move/scroll (and the gamepad axis ones too).
If a packet arrived after the throttle window but while earlier deltas
were still waiting on the timer, it was injected immediately and the
older total followed, so input landed out of order. Only pass a packet
through when nothing is pending.
Also give applyMotion a full InputConfig in the test instead of a cast.

Flush pending movement before a button release.
A move received at 8 ms now stays pending if an earlier move started a timer at 7 ms. If a button release arrives before that timer fires, the release is injected first. The move then occurs after the drag ends, so the item can be dropped at the wrong position. The trackpad sends moves during a drag and a click release at its end. (raw.githubusercontent.com)
Flush pending movement before dispatching a button transition. Add a test with a release between the newer move and the timer.
