This step keeps the native helper and support-fixture changes separate from worker stack sizing so each boundary can be reviewed independently. It follows #644 and becomes the base for #646.

The changes simplify ownership guards, update checksum and string helpers, consolidate test support files, add memory-soak and helper-script regression fixtures, and move the package/debug helpers under scripts. Existing polling values and database contracts remain covered by the production-linked regression suites.

This branch restores step 8 as its own review boundary after those changes had been squash-merged into the step-7 branch. The combined source tree matches the previously tested stack, including its CodeQL, sanitizer, configuration-field, and descriptor-alias fixes.

Validation: the focused step-7 prerequisite passed an isolated macOS build and make check (13 passed, 2 platform skips). The combined final stack passed macOS make check (14 passed, 2 platform skips), the Linux ASan/UBSan suite (17 passed, 2 prerequisite skips), all 54 linked tests under ASan/UBSan, and 100 repeated macOS linked-test runs. GitHub checks validate this branch separately.
