AEC is an easy to use GUI program, allowing
you to securely communicate with the help
of an air gapped PC and a Webcam to your
online PC.
As you can see, you always have to use the Recover button
once your camera captured the QR-Code.
As of June 30th 2026, AEC (Windows only) is now using
in Recover mode zbarimg, which is available for Windows
too and allows you to better revover AEC QR-Codes, even
when printed out on thermal printers, like the PeriPen
A6 304 DPI, which allows one to use it with an air gapped
GPD MicroPC, for dead drop or postal letter, or postcard usage.
For that I have included a PeripageA6 .svg template,
which can be used with Inkscape and the PeriPage A6.
For capturing AEC QR-Codes with an Android smartphone
I have included GL2AEC (Google Lens to AEC).
E2Q is useful if you send AEC messages to the
Usenet Newsgroup alt.anonymous.messages, as it
creates esub QR-Codes, which can be on Android
decoded as Subject: esub string.
Fetch can be used on Android to retrieve anonymously
articles from alt.anonymous.messages, when the esub
key (password) is provided.
For sending AEC QR-Codes as emails, I highly recommend to use the Hermes Nym Mixnet email Gateway.
