Settings
CyberViewer groups its preferences into six settings tabs. Changes are applied and saved automatically while the configuration window is open. Press Escape or choose Close when you are finished.
Open settings from the gear button in the title bar, or press Ctrl+,.

| Language | Switch the interface between English and Spanish. |
| Opening monitor | Use the last monitor or force a specific connected display when opening the app. |
Choose the accent used throughout the interface:

Choose how transparent pixels are shown:

| Checker-dark | Dark checkerboard behind transparent pixels. |
| Checker-light | Light checkerboard behind transparent pixels. |
| Solid | Use a solid background without a checkerboard. |
Enable a subtle outline around the image shown in the viewer.

| Sidebar | Show the thumbnail panel when the app starts. |
| Status bar | Show image dimensions, file size, zoom, and thumbnail scan status. |
| Animated GIFs | Play animated GIFs in the viewer and thumbnail panel. |
| Show filename in fullscreen | Display the current filename over the image in fullscreen. |
| Auto-hide fullscreen filename | Hide the fullscreen filename after inactivity. |
| Auto-hide navigation buttons | Hide the side navigation buttons after inactivity over the viewer. |
| Auto-hide delay | Set the inactivity delay from 0.5 to 10 seconds. |
| Shortcut button | Show or hide the quick keyboard shortcut guide in the title bar. |
| Disable tooltips | Hide interface tooltips. |
| Double-click action | Choose fullscreen, toggle zoom, fit to window, original size, or no action. |
| Navigation zoom | Reset to the selected Fit or 1:1 view, or keep the current zoom when changing images. |
| Setting | Description |

| Interval | Time between images: 2, 3, 5, or 10 seconds. |
| Loop folder | Return to the first image after reaching the end. Enabled by default. |
| Fullscreen on start | Enter immersive fullscreen when a slideshow begins. Enabled by default. |

| Close to tray | Keep CyberViewer running in the notification area when the window is closed. |
| Close image on tray hide | Unload the current image when hiding to the tray. It remains available through Recent images. |
| Recent images in tray | Show the recent image list in the tray menu. The list can also be cleared here. |
| Auto-start | Launch CyberViewer with Windows, minimized. |
| Context menu | Add CyberViewer to the Windows Explorer context menu for supported images. |
| Multiple Instances | Allow more than one CyberViewer window. Applies after the next launch. |
| Toggle hotkey | Set the global shortcut used to show or hide CyberViewer. The default is Alt+Shift+V. |
The context menu integration is managed per user. Multiple-instance windows opened directly with a file are independent from the resident tray launch.
The Export action saves a JSON backup containing supported application settings and favorites. The Import action reads a compatible JSON backup and restores those values.
Backup files are validated before they are applied. Favorites are sanitized and duplicate paths are removed.

| Open data folder | Open the local folder where CyberViewer stores settings and thumbnail cache. |
| Clear thumbnail cache | Remove generated thumbnails. They are recreated as needed. |
| Clear recent history | Clear recent files and folders without changing favorites or real files. |
Restore resets application preferences to their default values. Favorites and recent files are kept. Confirm the action in the dialog before continuing.
The update preference is located in the About panel rather than Settings. Check for updates on startup controls whether CyberViewer checks for a new version when it launches. You can also start a check manually from Help > Check for updates.
