Engine Labs Homebrew Tap (retired)

The cto CLI has been retired. This tap no longer installs a working binary. The cto formula is disabled, so brew install engine-labs/cto/cto and brew upgrade cto now fail with a retirement message. This repository is archived and kept read-only for reference.

What happened

cto was the CLI for cto.new — an AI engineering agent that ran locally against your repo. It has been retired: the API no longer serves CLI inference, and the app, its release pipeline, and the release-artifact mirror (Engine-Labs/cto-cli) have all been removed/archived.

Uninstalling

If you have an old cto installed via this tap:

brew uninstall cto
brew untap engine-labs/cto

cto stored credentials, cache, and theme under ~/.cto and a TUI plugin entry in ~/.config/opencode/tui.json; brew uninstall leaves those behind. Remove them manually if you want a clean slate:

rm -rf ~/.cto ~/.config/opencode/tui.json

What to use instead

Use cto.new in the browser.
