The eslint.config needed conversion to the new flat config.
eslint-plugin-import and eslint-plugin-react don't support eslint v10 yet, so not updating to v10 yet. The configuration should work with v10 too.
The configuration here seems quite complicated for the size of the codebase. Maybe it should be simplified?
