resolve the add/add conflict on tests/test_comparator.py by keeping both the local golden-frame parity checks (test_comparator.py) and the remote pytest unit suite, which moves to tests/test_comparator_units.py. brings in the codeql workflow plus the pipeline/samples/utils unit tests from PRs #1 and #2. full suite: 299 passed.
