Check the live Activity feed after its first days in merge mode #289
The Activity feed went live in merge mode on 2026-09-30: ACTIVITY_FEED_MODE is set to merge in QuantEcon/reports-activity, and the first run covered Sep 22 to 29 with nothing new to publish. This is a reminder to check the live site after a few days of daily runs, on or after 2026-10-03.
Part of #271 (Phase 3). The feed's first automatic merge is also the last proof #275 needs.
Check
Daily runs. Every scheduled Activity Feed run since 2026-09-30 succeeded and ended with a Covered <start> to <end> job, and no "Activity feed needs attention" issue is open in QuantEcon/reports-activity.
New library releases. If a library has released since 2026-09-29, a PR from quantecon-activity-feed[bot] opened here with the automated label, build passed, and it merged with no approval. If it stayed open instead, read the alert issue: a refusal for the approval rule means the App's bypass doesn't hold, so set the mode back to pr and see Let the reporter App merge its daily Activity PRs #275.
The live page.https://quantecon.org/activity/ shows any new entries under the right day with no duplicates, and the Pages deploy after the merge succeeded.
Nothing else changed. The App opened no other PRs or branches here, and /news/, the home page and /feed.xml look as before.
Let the reporter App merge its daily Activity PRs #275. If the first merge happened, tick its remaining criterion (a PR from the App merging with build green and no approval) and close the issue. If no library has released yet, note the date checked here and look again later: the feed's first slice writes release entries only, so the first merge waits for a release or for the second slice of QuantEcon/reports-activity#91.
Commands
gh run list --repo QuantEcon/reports-activity --workflow activity-feed.yml --limit 10
gh pr list --repo QuantEcon/website --state all --search "author:app/quantecon-activity-feed" --limit 5
gh issue list --repo QuantEcon/reports-activity --search "Activity feed needs attention in:title"
Later, not part of this check: GitHub moves ubuntu-latest to Ubuntu 26 from 2026-10-19, so watch a run after that date. When the second slice ships, replay the lecture days from 2026-09-28 with a dispatch setting start=2026-09-28.
The premise has changed (2026-10-01). Lecture, translation and book entries are live (QuantEcon/reports-activity#96), and ACTIVITY_FEED_MODE has been pr since 2026-09-30. So daily PRs wait for review, and a run that finds one open pauses without recording a Covered job. /news/ and the home page now show Activity by design (#291, #292), so the "Nothing else changed" item no longer applies to them.
Run this check a few days after the mode is back to merge, with these expectations:
