Renovate shared config

default.json is the organization-wide Renovate preset. Every repo in this org inherits it by extending the local preset:

Renovate's onboarding PR (opened automatically after the Mend Renovate app was installed) will add that renovate.json to each repo. Approve the onboarding PR and the repo starts tracking dependencies against the policy below.

Policy summary

• Schedule: updates batched, PRs raised before 9am Monday (America/Toronto)
• Grouping: non-major (minor + patch) grouped into one PR; @backstage/* grouped together
• Majors: separate PRs, labelled major-update for manual review
• Digests: container images, Helm, Kubernetes and Flux manifests get pinned digests
• Limits: 5 concurrent PRs, 2/hour
• Dependency Dashboard: enabled per repo (a tracking issue titled "Dependency Dashboard")

Changing the policy

Edit default.json here — all repos pick up the change on their next Renovate run. No per-repo edits needed unless a repo needs an override.
