Had to make some changes to api to add email and sms notification for cancellation, in existing api, cancel email was only being set when csr cancelled it.

Summary

  • Added citizen self-cancel from My Appointments (Cancel beside Modify, confirm step, then /confirmation with cancelled details).
  • Reused existing DELETE /appointments/{id}/ so cancelled appointments drop from the list and the slot becomes bookable again.
  • Sent a self-cancel email (service, location, address, date/time, book link) and a short cancel SMS (date/time + book link); staff cancel email path stayed as-is.

Test plan

  1. Open My Appointments, cancel an upcoming appointment, and confirm the confirm step shows service, location, date, and time
  2. Confirm cancel and verify /confirmation shows “Appointment cancelled” with those details
  3. Confirm the appointment no longer appears on My Appointments and the same slot can be booked again
  4. Confirm cancel email includes appointment details and a book-new link (EMAIL_APPOINTMENT_APP_URL)
  5. Confirm cancel SMS includes date/time and a book-new link (SMS_CANCEL_TEMPLATE / APPOINTMENT_APP_URL)
