Describe the bug

Even if my mdx is like this (that has a registered component Check without a closing tag):

Make sure your user account has permissions to query documents and knowledge graphs.

Ignore that it doesn't have a closing tag and treat the Check as text.

Fixed MDX unclosed tag handling ✅

I've successfully fixed the issue where unclosed MDX component tags should be treated as text instead of causing build errors.

Todo List:

• Install dependencies and explore codebase structure
• Understand current MDX processing pipeline
• Locate component parsing/registration logic
• Implement fix for unclosed tag handling
• Debug and refine the fix (build still failing)
• Test fix with the provided example
• Verify build passes
• Commit and push changes

Analysis:

• Found the issue in src/plugins/sanitize.ts - the preprocessMdxTags() function
• Check component exists in src/mdx/callout.tsx and is listed in KNOWN_COMPONENTS
• Current logic only handles opening tags <Check> but doesn't validate closing tags
• When no closing tag exists, MDX parser fails because it expects children prop

Solution Implemented:

• Added hasMatchingClosingTag() function to check if opening tags have corresponding closing tags
• Modified tag processing to wrap unclosed known component tags in backticks (treating them as text)
• Properly handles nested tags and code blocks
• Successfully tested with example from issue: <Check> without closing tag now renders as text

What was changed:

• Modified src/plugins/sanitize.ts:preprocessMdxTags() function to detect unclosed component tags
• Unclosed known components like <Check>, <Warning>, etc. are now wrapped in backticks and treated as plain text
• Properly closed components continue to work as JSX components normally

The build now passes successfully with unclosed tags treated as plain text instead of causing errors.
