Non central projection suport

in https://mrcal.secretsauce.net/docs-2.0/tour-initial-calibration.html it mentions experimental support for non central projection, however that branch is multiple years out of date.
Are there any plans to integrate non central projection in the future?

Hi. That branch was something I used in the field, but it was never merged, and I haven't touched it in a while. I'm working on other things at the moment, and probably won't look at noncentrality for a while. One thing you can try TODAY, is to use LENSMODEL_CAHVORE. This is a noncentral model, so if your application really needs it, this model will give you better results. It is a lean model, so you'll get the same biases as with all the other lean models (unlike LENSMODEL_SPLINED_STEREOGRAPHIC). And since it is noncentral, uncertainty reporting isn't supported and mrcal_unproject() isn't supported. This last bit has implications for many of the analyses. Try it out, and let me know what you find.
