We discussed this PR at ACDC today and EL teams were generally supportive of the change. I'm hesitant to merge this before the EL counterpart (ethereum/execution-apis#796) is merged, but I intend to make a release soon and do not want this to block that. If for whatever reason we decide against this, we can revert this change. |
