GitHub now supports dependency auto-submission for Gradle; when is manual action configuration still needed?

GitHub now supports dependency auto-submission for Gradle. Maybe it would be good to update the documentation¹ to explain if or when manually configuring gradle/actions/dependency-submission is still needed or recommended? Possibly also linking to the GitHub documentation for how to enable auto-submission.

GitHub’s auto-submission doesn’t allow you to configure credentials for the internal package registry if you have one.
