I think this should be pretty ok as of now |
I would argue we could fully replace Wii Backup Manager with tiny, and we could make the Managing GameCube backups page redirect to that page. It doesn’t make sense to maintain two pages anymore, and I don’t think it really makes sense to direct people to or maintain instructions for Wii Backup Manager anymore. Tiny is only an improvement, and removes the requirement for Windows. I’d also argue the information for joining PART files should be placed under the info on managing backups but that’s less of a concern to me |
We could probably also remove references to backup fusion. |
Wii Backup Manager is closed source shitware, and Wii Backup Fusion just sucks, so yeah |
I am also in favor of completely removing Wii backup manager and wii backup fusion from the guide. The GC backups page can also be removed completely and the page for wii backups can be renamed from wii-backups to just backups. other pages that link to those pages will need changes reflected as well. As for people with WBFS drives, well... a wiki page can be made for how to migrate to a FAT32 drive. The WBFS Filesystem is meant to eventually be unsupported for loaders. Once I see these changes reflected on this page id be more than happy to merge this PR. |
A draft for including TinyWiiBackupManager in the wii backups section
