Closes #117.

Moves the ~106 tag-matching rules out of inline re.compile() calls in mapping.py into a declarative src/jg/beak/mapping.toml, loaded and validated with pydantic.

[[rule]]
pattern = 'claude code'
tags = ["chat", "agents"]

Authoring conventions (applied on load)

  • Case-insensitive by default; case_sensitive = true to opt out (used for AI, ML, JS, …).
  • Plain space → \s+ so patterns survive newlines/multiple spaces in scraped text; use explicit \s* / \s? / \x20 when you need something else.
  • Auto \b…\b (whole-word) unless treat_as_word = false.
  • Every tags value is validated against the TechTag / TechLibTag / AITag enums on load — a typo fails fast.

No regression (per the issue's mandate)

Verified rule-for-rule that the TOML-loaded MAPPING is an exact functional equivalent of the previous one: every compiled pattern (modulo \x20 == space), its flags, and its tags are identical, in the same order. beak() and the public API are unchanged.

Notes

  • mapping.toml ships in the wheel as package data (confirmed by building and inspecting the wheel).
  • Adds pydantic>=2 as a dependency; loading uses stdlib tomllib.
  • New test_mapping_loads_from_toml asserts the file loads to a non-empty mapping of valid Tags. Full suite green (33 passed).
  • Whitespace/normalization discussion from Move tag-matching regexes out of code into a declarative TOML file #117 is reflected in the plain-space→\s+ convention.

Closes #117. Rules now live in src/jg/beak/mapping.toml as [[rule]]
entries loaded and validated with pydantic, instead of inline
re.compile() calls in mapping.py.

Per-rule authoring conventions applied on load:
- case-insensitive by default; case_sensitive = true to opt out
- plain spaces between words expand to \s+
- patterns are wrapped in \b…\b unless treat_as_word = false
- tags are validated against the TechTag/TechLibTag/AITag enums

The migration is an exact functional equivalent of the previous
mapping: verified rule-for-rule that every compiled pattern (modulo
\x20 == space), its flags, and its tags are identical to before, in
order. beak() and the public API are unchanged. mapping.toml ships in
the wheel as package data.

📝 Walkthrough

Walkthrough

The PR moves tag-matching rules from Python code into mapping.toml. mapping.py validates rules with Pydantic, compiles patterns, and assigns the result to MAPPING. Rule compilation supports case sensitivity, whitespace expansion, and word boundaries. The PR adds pydantic>=2, documentation for the TOML format, and tests for the loaded mapping structure.

word-boundary wrapping is disabled via treat_as_word, then add explicit
boundaries that allow punctuation such as the plus signs in C/C++ while
preventing trailing word characters from matching. Preserve the existing tags
