Aaron Munger (@amunger) Sorry I'm late, are you using environment extension?
amunger commentedon Aug 25, 2025
It looks like I don't currently have ms-python.vscode-python-envs installed, but I do have

I believe we started bundling them as default, do you see difference in behavior when you set to
"python.useEnvironmentsExtension": false?github-actions commentedon Sep 9, 2025
Because we have not heard back with the information we requested, we are closing this issue for now. If you are able to provide the info later on, then we will be happy to re-open this issue to pick up where we left off.
Happy Coding!

Aaron Munger (@amunger) are you still experiencing this issue? If so can you attach the Python environments logs? Thanks
amunger commentedon Sep 9, 2025

Hii, can you please confirm if the issue is still occuring?
Since the last response, we've changed the way we listen to package changes from listening to terminal input (such as
pip install <package>to actually monitoring the selected environment's site-packages for changes. Plus, we are implementing #1842 to prompt users for installing the package globally or on a local environment.I tried reproducing on my end and did not get a warning. Can you please confirm that is the case? Thanks :)
