I'm mingcheng (明城), an open-source practitioner from Ningbo, now living in Hangzhou, China. I love building useful software and working with the communities that keep it thriving.
I'm currently a senior software architect and open-source evangelist at Ant Group. Before that, I spent nearly a decade at NetEase as a senior technical lead and team manager.
My background is in cloud-native systems and software architecture, and lately I've been focusing on AI agents and infrastructure. I care about clean design, reliable automation, and turning good ideas into systems that actually work.
Linux is my go-to: Debian for servers and containers, and Kalpa Desktop on the desktop. I also use macOS for development and testing.
I serve on a Project Management Committee (PMC) at the Apache Software Foundation and help maintain CNCF graduated projects. Here are some of the projects I'm involved with:
- inclusionAI — Open-source AI models and systems (GitHub · Hugging Face).
- AReaL — Reinforcement learning infrastructure for foundation models and AI agents; listed in the PyTorch Foundation landscape.
- Dragonfly — P2P-based data distribution; a CNCF graduated project.
- Apache GeaFlow — Distributed stream-batch graph computing; an Apache incubating project.
- Apache Answer — A Q&A platform for community knowledge sharing; an Apache top-level project.
In my spare time, I build and maintain a few small tools for everyday development and terminal use:
- aigitcommit — Generate Conventional Commit messages with OpenAI-compatible APIs.
- mp3blstr — Play music with a terminal player inspired by mp3blaster.
- simplyddns — Keep DNS records up to date with configurable IP sources and DNS providers.
- socks5lb — Balance traffic across SOCKS5 proxies with automatic health checks.
- stupidict — Look up English words offline in an English-Chinese terminal dictionary.
They're all available from my Homebrew tap: brew install mingcheng/tap/<package>. You can find more projects on my GitHub repositories page.
