The spacing around the colon in various typing judgements in the document is currently wildly inconsistent. Sometimes it's just the default \mathrel spacing around the plain ":", sometimes extra space is inserted manually, and even the dreadful \colon appears in a few places.
A macro would probably be a good idea before it gets out of hand. However, we are bound to have a few ever so slightly different shapes of these judgements (there is type reconstruction, we will probably see a type-and-effect system at some point, etc.).
