Something else that occurred to me after I pushed this re: project identification. The .here file could also become (optionally) more capable. Instead of just existing, it could hold a non-secret passphrase, e.g. of the "horse battery staple" type, and scripts within the project could use that as an early assertion to check that execution is happening within the intended project.
